"In August 2006 the pastors from Ruimsig Church (a Purpose Driven Mentor Church), passed on a gift of 120 Better Together books and 40 VHS videos left over from their 40 Days of Community Campaign, to Pastor Victor Kakudi from The Lord's Place. Their investment in this church has already produced fruit. Thirty (30) ladies have been receiving training since 20 August in practical farming at Tshwane University of Technology, through a partnership between The Lord's Place and the local municipality. On 21 September 2006 they started open air meetings in the neighbouring informal settlement where they preached and donated thousands of used clothes to the needy. "When I joined the Celebrate Recovery ministry at our church, I felt dead inside. For years I've pulled myself back from people, distrusting everyone, becoming depressed.  I didn’t want to live anymore.  I tried suicide 6 times.  My family was devastated.  By they kept on praying.  I read a lot from the Bible (it didn’t make sense, but I knew that it was the right thing to do.)  My family kept on praying.  Some of them diagnosed me as suffering from an incurable personality disorder.  I accepted it.  My depression had a name.  

Behind the scene God was working.  A God who had to listen to the daily desperate prayers of a family.  A gracious God who isn’t deaf when He’s children ask for help.  God equipped Rick Warren from Saddleback to write a program called Celebrate Recovery.  And God brought it to South Africa so that I can get healing.  

During 2005 God started his healing process with me.  And He used a very good friend of mine, and equipped her with patience, love and longsuffering.  And God sent the Celebrate Recovery program which she started implementing in our church. 

That is when Jesus started with his work.  In the first step of the Celebrate Recovery workbook, "Stepping Out of Denial", I learned to forgive.  I learned to pray for others.  I learned about fellowship and how it can heal you.  I started to care about others.  Started to give to others.  God started to answer my prayers and bless me.  I asked Him to bless those people whom I couldn’t forgive.  I started to have daily walks with Him.  And I started to LIFE.  I’m full of God’s joy and is desperate not to loose it again.  I want to shout it out to all people!!!
